Stability in work-life balance is not deemed one of the key elements of an entrepreneur’s life, but it might be. No doubt 24/7 work requires balance and can be difficult to balance the commitment needed to maintain a healthy lifestyle and a busy work life which sometimes borders on obsession.
Completely Remove All Daily Distractions
Remove distracting behaviors such as social media posts or private telephone calls. These actions can only take a couple of minutes but can add up fast. You should also decide that you waste too much time performing low-value tasks. For example, when you spend an hour every week on food shopping, it is best to outsource this interaction to a delivery food service. We aren’t suggesting you cut off every little thing but do the things you intend to do, but do not get distracted scrolling on your phone for an hour unintentionally.
Make A Schedule For Your Social Life / Build Your Work Schedule Around That
Study results have also shown that having an active social life is essential for your well-being and health. Individuals who are isolated from others may increase their risk of death by about 30%. But making time for social activities can be challenging as you try to grow your business. One way to overcome this challenge is to organize regular social time with your closest friends.
Schedule a monthly dinner with a few of your closest friends, for example. Set this monthly activity ahead of time on your calendar. This will allow you to schedule your working time around your social calendar. This approach is efficient because it obliges you to spend time with your friends and have fun. Consider the recurring social time like a meeting you can’t cancel with an important client regardless of how deluged you are with your work.
Stress Will Come, Learn How To Beat It
Being a businessman or entrepreneur seems to be stressful. No matter how much low-value activities you take out from your schedule or how often you see your buddies you can not escape stress. Chronic stress can have a detrimental effect on your body and mind and can cause dangerous conditions of high blood pressure. This does not mean though, that being depressed is a sure way to shorten your life. The secret to striking a work and life balance is learning how to deal with stress.
Do not concentrate on having an equally balanced personal and business life of 50/50 every single day. Personal life often happens during working hours and sometimes when you put on a movie, business calls. Every day is skewing differently, but everything will balance naturally. Don’t think about perfecting it.
