Only True Innovation and Entrepreneurship Will Change Our Economy and By Extension, Our Future
Introduction
Trends are like someone’s political opinion. People tend to go whichever way the wind blows. Something that sounds great today is going to be abandoned tomorrow. Look at the way everything has become so disposable nowadays. People throw things away at such a rapid pace, that is can be difficult, sometimes, to know the difference between trash and something that someone has grown tired of.
Look at the mess we have created with our environment. You have one little girl(age 5) who is more than happy to pick up the trash and throw it away(something that others could do themselves and choose not to).
On the flip side of the coin, you have to sit back and wonder about the world we live in now. This five-year-old is cleaning up the mess that we helped to create. I do not know about you, but it makes me feel pretty disgusted and ashamed that we have helped to create the world we live in now.
The Reboot
Rebooting is such a common theme in our entertainment industry anymore. Why should we repurpose the original movie or tv show when we can reboot everything, spending money that we do not need to sell something already good, to begin with?
Why don’t we use the “reboot” theme for something good, like saving the planet? Our oceans are being polluted and disappearing at a rapid pace, and yet, everyone keeps saying “there is nothing to see here”.
Did you know that more than $62 billion is spent a year on e-waste? That is more than double and triple what we spend on gold and other precious metals. The question is: What can we do to help? How can we change a system that often looks broken to be fixed?
The New Generation of Innovators Are Changing the Schematic of Our World and Lives
There is a new wave, believe it or not, of new innovators who are gladly stepping up to the challenge. Groups like Karma and the Fourth Industrial Revolution are taking notice and trying to do something about it through new technologies.
Karma is doing something great with food waste and excess. There is so much food that gets thrown away every day due to excess and waste. They are looking to connect that waste with the right buyer. That way, the food will be used for something good, not just thrown away as it has been.
There is a company called AmpRobotics that uses robots and other technologies to help dispose of the waste in its proper place.
There is something great happening. The question remains: How many people are going to take notice? How many people are going to want to help? Are people going to wake up and do their part or just fall back to sleep again?
The Circle of Life Begins and Ends With Entrepreneurs Looking To Make A Change
There are other new generations of entrepreneurs looking to make the world a better place. They know that what we do today is going to affect what happens tomorrow. They know that the seeds we sow now are going to be what blossoms with the next generations.
The UAE, South Africa, and Columbia are just a few examples of countries looking to get involved. The question remains: How will you support these groups and their endeavors?
I would rather protect what we have for future generations, not destroy it. How about you?
